Biography
Jay Karas, also credited as Jaime Eliezer Karas, is an American film and television director. He graduated from the University of Southern California and began his career in live television and stand-up comedy specials before directing episodic series.
Karas has directed episodes of Parks and Recreation (2009), Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Awkward., Abbott Elementary (2021) and Ghosts (2021). He served as executive producer and director across multiple seasons of Acapulco (2021). His feature films include Break Point (2014) and The Main Event (2020).
He received a nomination for an Online Film & Television Association award for directing an episode of Parks and Recreation and was part of the team awarded a Peabody Award for Abbott Elementary.
