Biography

Jeanette Hain is a German actress. She was born in Munich on 18 February 1969 and studied directing at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München before being cast by director Sherry Hormann in the leading role in the 1998 television film Die Cellistin.

Hain has appeared in more than 90 film and television productions since 1990. She is known internationally for her role as Brigitte in The Reader (2008), Baroness Lehzen in The Young Victoria (2009), Waltraut Barnert in Never Look Away (2018) and Gertrude Ederle in Young Woman and the Sea (2024). She has also worked extensively in German television, including Babylon Berlin (2017) as Irmgard Benda.
