Biography
Jeff Bleckner is an American director and producer. Born on 12 August 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, he studied at Amherst College and Yale University before beginning his career in theatre. He directed off-Broadway productions including works by Sam Shepard and David Rabe, as well as Broadway plays such as Sticks and Bones (1972).
Bleckner moved into television in the late 1970s, directing episodes of series including Dynasty, Remington Steele and Hill Street Blues (1981). His television credits also include Castle (2009–2015), Medium (2005), Boston Legal (2004), Private Practice (2007) and the television films Rear Window (1998) and Remember Sunday (2013).
He has received two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Directors Guild of America Awards, including recognition for his work on Hill Street Blues and The Beach Boys: An American Family (2000).
