Biography
Jenni Konner is an American television writer, producer and director. She was born on 15 May 1971 in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. She began her career writing for series including Undeclared (2001) and later collaborated with Alexandra Rushfield on Help Me Help You and In the Motherhood.
Konner is best known for her long partnership with Lena Dunham as co-showrunner, writer and executive producer on the HBO series Girls (2012–2017). She also directed two episodes of the show. The pair co-founded the production company A Casual Romance and the newsletter Lenny Letter. Konner later established her own company and has executive-produced or written for Camping (2018), Welcome to Chippendales (2022), Single Drunk Female (2022), Genera+ion (2021) and Deli Boys (2025). She served as showrunner, writer and executive producer on the second season of Nobody Wants This (2025).
