Biography

Jenny Galloway (born 1959) is a British actress and singer. She began her career in the 1970s and is best known for her extensive stage work, including the role of Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables across multiple productions and concerts from the 1990s onwards.

Galloway has won two Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Supporting Role in a Musical, for The Boys from Syracuse (1992) and Mamma Mia! (2000), and was nominated for a third. Her film and television credits include Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994), Fierce Creatures (1997), About a Boy (2002), Johnny English (2003), Crooked House (2017), Good Omens (2019), The Queen's Gambit (2020) as Matron, Wicked Little Letters (2023) and Fleabag (2016).
