Biography

Jérémie Renier is a Belgian actor born on 6 January 1981 in Brussels. He began acting as a child and made his screen debut in the 1992 anthology film The Seven Deadly Sins.

Renier first gained recognition for his role as Igor in the Dardenne brothers' La Promesse (1996). He later appeared in their L'Enfant (2005) and worked with directors including François Ozon, Christophe Gans and Joe Wright. His international credits include Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), In Bruges (2008) and Atonement (2007), in which he played Luc Cornet.

He is the half-brother of actor Yannick Renier. Renier has received nominations for European Film Awards and César Awards, and won a Joseph Plateau Award for L'Enfant.
