Biography

Jeremy Benning is a Canadian cinematographer. Born and raised in Toronto, he began with street photography before studying film and working as a Steadicam operator, later becoming an early adopter of digital capture technologies.

He served as the main cinematographer and visual advisor on the sci-fi series The Expanse (2015–2022). His other television credits include episodes of The Boys (2019), Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022), Accused (2023–2024) and Cross (2024–). Feature work includes Spin (2021) and 40 Acres (2024).

Benning won an American Society of Cinematographers Award for Killing Lincoln (2013) and a Canadian Screen Award for Best Cinematography for 40 Acres (2026). He is a member of the ASC and CSC, and serves on the board of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers.
