Biography
Jerome Willis was a British stage and screen actor. Born Jerome Barry Willis on 23 October 1928 in Balham, London, he died on 11 January 2014 in Wimbledon, London. He trained at the Old Vic Theatre School and began his career in the theatre with Shakespearean roles, later appearing with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Willis had numerous television credits, including a leading role as Matthew Peele in the series The Sandbaggers (1978–1980), Professor Henderson in Yes Minister (1980), and Stevens in Doctor Who (1973). He also appeared in Callan (1967), Within These Walls (1974–1978) and Space Precinct (1994). His film roles include Khartoum (1966), Lifeforce (1985) and Orlando (1992). He was married to Dilys Elstone from 1952.
