Biography
Jerry Adler was an American actor. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on 4 February 1929 and died in New York City on 23 August 2025.
Adler began his career in theatre as a stage manager in the 1950s, working on Broadway productions including the original My Fair Lady. He later directed several shows before turning to acting in his sixties. He appeared in films such as Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993), In Her Shoes (2005) and A Most Violent Year (2014), in which he played Joseph Mendelsohn.
On television he was best known for his recurring role as Herman 'Hesh' Rabkin in The Sopranos (1999–2007). Other credits include The Good Wife (2011–2016) as Howard Lyman, Rescue Me (2007–2011) and Transparent (2017–2019).
