Biography
Jerry Stiller was an American actor and comedian. Born Gerald Isaac Stiller on 8 June 1927 in Brooklyn, New York City, he died on 11 May 2020 in New York City. He trained at Syracuse University and HB Studio in New York.
With his wife Anne Meara, whom he married in 1954, he formed the comedy duo Stiller and Meara and appeared frequently on variety television. He played Frank Costanza on the sitcom Seinfeld (1993–1998) and Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens (1998–2007). Stiller appeared as Maury Ballstein in Zoolander (2001) and Zoolander 2 (2016), and provided voices for The Lion King 1½ (2004) and Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014). He worked with his son Ben Stiller on several films.
