Biography
Jody Lee Lipes is an American cinematographer and filmmaker. Born on 18 January 1982 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, he studied film at New York University.
He began working on short films and early features including Afterschool (2008) and Tiny Furniture (2010). Lipes has served as director of photography on Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), Trainwreck (2015), Manchester by the Sea (2016), A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019), The Good Nurse (2022) and Earth Mama (2023). He has also directed episodes of the series Girls and the documentary Ballet 422 (2014).
Lipes became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers in 2021.
