Biography
Joel P. West is an American composer, singer, songwriter and musician. He is known for his film scores, particularly his collaborations with director Destin Daniel Cretton on Short Term 12 (2013), The Glass Castle (2017), Just Mercy (2019) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).
West has also composed for the Disney+ series Wonder Man (2026). He was formerly the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Joel P. West and the Tree Ring, and has released solo albums including Smaller (2019) and Sonora (2023). He is based in San Diego.
