Biography
Joey Lauren Adams is an American actress and director. Born on 9 January 1968 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, she began her career with television appearances including episodes of Married... with Children before her breakthrough film role as Simone in Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused (1993).
She is known for her work in Kevin Smith films, including Mallrats (1995) and Chasing Amy (1997), the latter earning her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Other notable roles include Layla in Big Daddy (1999) and appearances in The Break-Up (2006) and Grey's Anatomy (2015). Adams made her directorial debut with Come Early Morning (2006). She has been married to cinematographer Brian Vilim since 2014.
