Biography
John B. Carls is a producer and writer. He began his credited work as executive producer and story editor on the animated television series Little Bear (1995–2001).
Carls later worked on several animated features, serving as executive producer on Open Season (2006) and producer on Where the Wild Things Are (2009) and Rango (2011). He produced the live-action film Queen of Katwe (2016). He received a Producers Guild of America Award nomination for Rango and a Christopher Award for Queen of Katwe.
