Biography
John DeCuir Jr. is a production designer and art director. The son of production designer John DeCuir, he served as a student apprentice on films including Cleopatra (1963), The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965) and The Taming of the Shrew (1967). He holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Southern California.
DeCuir has designed numerous feature films and television productions. His credits include art direction on Ghostbusters (1984) and production design on Top Gun (1986), Fright Night (1985), Legal Eagles (1986), Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988), Turner & Hooch (1989), Sleepwalkers (1992) and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993). He has also worked on themed exhibitions and attractions internationally.
At Walt Disney Imagineering he served as project designer on the master plan for EPCOT and World Showcase, as well as on Spaceship Earth. He teaches production design.
