Biography
John F. Warren (also credited as John Warren) was an American cinematographer. He began his career as a slate boy for Metro Pictures in New York before moving to the west coast, and later worked as a camera operator on films including Samson and Delilah (1949).
He served as director of photography on The Country Girl (1954), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography (Black-and-White). Other credits include The Seven Little Foys (1955), The Search for Bridey Murphy (1956), Zero Hour! (1957), The Colossus of New York (1958) and Torn Curtain (1966). He also contributed additional photography to The Ten Commandments (1956) and worked on numerous television series.
Warren was an active member of the American Society of Cinematographers and retired to Camarillo, California, where he died in 2000.
