Biography
John Hopkins is an English actor. He is known for playing Sergeant Dan Scott in the television series Midsomer Murders (2004–2005).
He studied English at the University of Leeds from 1993 to 1996 and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2000. He performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in repertory seasons from 2001 to 2002 and 2006 to 2007, including the role of Caesar in Antony and Cleopatra.
His other credits include Lowell in Alice in Wonderland (2010), Sir Francis Basset in Poldark (2017–2018), roles in Merlin (2008), Endeavour (2013) and Spooks (2002), and voice work as Erik Ahlberg in Hilda (2018) and Hilda and the Mountain King (2021).
