Biography
John Stanier is a British cinematographer and camera operator. Born on 28 January 1942 in London, he began working in the camera department in the 1970s.
He served as camera operator on films including Bugsy Malone (1976), Midnight Express (1978), Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979), Fame (1980), Shoot the Moon (1982) and Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982). Stanier was director of photography on Oxford Blues (1984), Death Wish 3 (1985), The Dirty Dozen: The Next Mission (1985) and Rambo III (1988).
Later credits include cinematography on segments of If These Walls Could Talk (1996) and West of Thunder (2012), where he also worked as associate producer and supervising editor. He was previously married to Patricia Tarr.
