Biography
Joi McMillon is an American film editor. She graduated from the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts in 2003.
McMillon is known for her collaborations with director Barry Jenkins. She co-edited Moonlight (2016) with Nat Sanders, becoming the first Black woman nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. She later edited If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) and The Underground Railroad (2021).
Her other credits include Lemon (2017), American Woman (2018), Zola (2021) and Mufasa: The Lion King (2024).
