Biography

Jonathan Anderson is a Northern Irish fashion designer and costume designer. He founded the JW Anderson label and served as creative director of Loewe until 2025. He is credited as costume designer on Luca Guadagnino’s films Challengers (2024) and Queer (2024).

Born in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, in 1984, Anderson trained at the London College of Fashion. His film work marks his first major credits as a costume designer, following earlier collaborations with Guadagnino. Challengers earned him a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination.

Anderson has also designed for runway shows and collaborated on film-related collections, including a JW Anderson line tied to Queer.
