Biography
Jonny Coyne, also credited as Jonathan Coyne, is an English actor. Born on 1 January 1953 in England, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where he received the Hannam Clarke Award on graduation.
His early television work included appearances in British series such as London's Burning (1990) and Gulliver's Travels. He later gained notice for film roles including Gus Petraki in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life (2003), Grimes in Gangster Squad (2013), Hector in The Hangover Part III (2013) and the Pawn Shop Owner in Nightcrawler (2014). On television he played Warden Edwin James in Alcatraz (2012) and has appeared in The Blacklist, Gotham and Once Upon a Time.
Coyne portrayed an Imperial Warlord in the third season of The Mandalorian (2023) and reprised the role, now named Lord Janu, in the film The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026).
