Biography
Karin Gist is an American television writer and producer. She earned an undergraduate degree in English literature from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. After practising law for three years she began her writing career in 2001 as a trainee on the sitcom Girlfriends.
Gist has written episodes of Grey's Anatomy (2005), One Tree Hill, Revenge, Star and mixed-ish. She co-wrote the Disney Channel films Jump In! (2007), Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). She has worked as a producer and co-executive producer on Grey's Anatomy and Revenge, and as executive producer and showrunner on mixed-ish. She created the series Our Kind of People (2021) and served as showrunner on Mike (2022).
