Biography
Katarzyna Sobańska is a Polish production designer. She graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (Katowice branch) and teaches scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she also studied. She began working in film and television production design in the late 1990s.
Sobańska frequently collaborates with Marcel Sławiński. Their credits include production design on The Mill and the Cross (2011), In Darkness (2011), Ida (2013), Cold War (2018) and Fatherland (2026), the last two directed by Paweł Pawlikowski. She has received multiple Polish Film Awards (Eagles) for best production design, including for Ida, Filip (2022) and Chopin, Chopin! (2025).
