Biography
Katey Sagal is an American actress and singer. She is known for voicing Turanga Leela in the animated series Futurama (1999–2003, 2008–2013, 2023–present) and for playing Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014).
Born Catherine Louise Sagal on 19 January 1954 in Los Angeles, she trained at the California Institute of the Arts. She began her career as a backup singer for artists including Bob Dylan and Bette Midler before moving into acting. Earlier television roles include Peg Bundy in Married... with Children (1987–1997) and Cate Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules (2002–2005). She has also appeared in The Conners (2018–2025).
Sagal is the daughter of television director Boris Sagal. She has received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Sons of Anarchy and multiple nominations for her work in Married... with Children. She is married to writer and producer Kurt Sutter.
