Biography
Keiji Sakakida was a Japanese actor. He was born on 15 January 1900 in Omagari, Daisen, Akita, Japan.
Sakakida debuted in film in 1921 and appeared in numerous pre-war productions for studios including Nikkatsu, Takamatsu-Azuma, Empire Kinema and Makino Talkie. He joined PCL in 1937, which later became Toho. After the war he took supporting roles for Toho, often in science-fiction films.
He is known for his performances in Seven Samurai (1954) as Gosaku, Godzilla (1954) as Mayor Inada, Ikiru (1952), Rodan (1956) as Tahei and Atragon (1963). One of his final screen appearances was in Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).
