Biography
Kerry Shale is a Canadian actor and voice actor based in the United Kingdom. Born on 4 June 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he moved to the UK in the late 1970s and began his professional career in London's West End theatre in 1978. He has performed at venues including the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Court.
Shale is known for extensive voice work, including multiple characters such as Larry Needlemeyer, Leslie, Bobert and Hector in the animated series The Amazing World of Gumball (2011–2019; 2025–). He voiced roles in Thomas & Friends (2010–2021), goblins in Labyrinth (1986) and additional voices in Arthur Christmas (2011). Live-action credits include appearances in Wednesday (2022), Wrath of Man (2021), Angel Has Fallen (2019) and Doctor Who (2011). He has also written for BBC Radio 4.
