Biography
Kevin Clash (born 17 September 1960) is an American puppeteer, voice actor and producer. He is best known for performing Elmo on Sesame Street from 1985 to 2012, as well as for voicing Splinter in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films (1990–1991) and Baby Sinclair in the series Dinosaurs (1991–1994).
Clash began making and performing puppets as a teenager in Baltimore, Maryland. He joined Sesame Street in the mid-1980s after early work on shows including Captain Kangaroo, and went on to perform extensively with The Jim Henson Company. His credits include puppetry and voices in Labyrinth (1986), Muppet Treasure Island (1996) and Muppets from Space (1999). He served as Muppet Captain and co-executive producer on Sesame Street, and published the autobiography My Life as a Furry Red Monster in 2006.
