Biography
Kim Cattrall is a British-Canadian actress. She was born Kim Victoria Cattrall on 21 August 1956 in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, England, and moved to Canada as an infant.
She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Her film debut came in Rosebud (1975). She is known for roles including Karen Thompson in Police Academy (1984), Gracie Law in Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Lt. Valeris in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), and Samantha Jones in the television series Sex and the City (1998–2004) and its film adaptations (2008, 2010).
Cattrall won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Sex and the City.
