Biography

Kirsten Beyer is an American science fiction writer and television producer. She began her career as a novelist, writing eleven tie-in novels for the Star Trek: Voyager relaunch series beginning with Full Circle (2009), and contributed the short story 'Isabo's Shirt' to the anthology Distant Shores (2005).

Beyer joined the writers' room for Star Trek: Discovery in 2016 as a staff writer. She advanced to co-producer and consulting producer on that series, co-created Star Trek: Picard (on which she served as writer and supervising producer), and has been co-executive producer and writer on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She has written episodes across these series and Star Trek: Short Treks, and serves as co-executive producer and writer on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (2026). She holds an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
