Biography
Leslie Newman is an American screenwriter. She co-wrote the screenplays for the first three Superman films with her husband, David Newman: Superman (1978), Superman II (1980) and Superman III (1983). She also contributed the story for Santa Claus: The Movie (1985) and the screenplay for Takedown (2000).
Newman studied at the University of Michigan. She wrote the novel Gathering Force (1974) and the cookbook Feasts: Menus for Home-cooked Celebrations (1990). She was married to screenwriter David Newman from 1958 until his death in 2003; they had two children.
