Biography
Louise Vesth is a Danish film producer. She holds a BA in economics from Aarhus School of Business and graduated from the producing programme at the National Film School of Denmark in 2001. Since then she has worked at the production company Zentropa.
Vesth has maintained long-term collaborations with directors including Lars von Trier, for whom she has been the regular producer since Melancholia (2011), as well as Nikolaj Arcel, Mikkel Nørgaard and Christian E. Christiansen. Among her credits are A Royal Affair (2012), the Department Q adaptations The Keeper of Lost Causes (2013), The Absent One (2014), A Conspiracy of Faith (2016) and The Purity of Vengeance (2018), Nymphomaniac: Vol. I (2013), Nymphomaniac: Vol. II (2013), The House That Jack Built (2018) and The Promised Land (2023). She also produced the television series Klovn (2005–09) and the feature Klovn: The Movie (2010).
Her short film Om natten (also known as At Night, 2007) received an Oscar nomination for Best Live Action Short Film. Melancholia won the European Film Award for Best Film.
