Biography
MacIntyre Dixon is an American actor born on 22 December 1931 in Everett, Massachusetts. He graduated from Emerson College and began his career on the stage, appearing in productions such as The Quare Fellow (1958) at Circle in the Square and the revue The Stewed Prunes (1960).
Dixon has worked extensively in film and television since the late 1960s. His credits include Popeye (1980) as Cole Oyl, Reds (1981) as Carl Walters, batteries not included (1987) as DeWitt, The Secret of My Success (1987) as Ferguson, A River Runs Through It (1992) as a police sergeant, The School of Rock (2003) as a bus driver, It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010) as Roger, and The Half of It (2020) as Father Shanley. He has also appeared in multiple episodes of Law & Order and its spin-offs.
