Biography
Mae Questel (born Mae Kwestel) was an American actress and voice artist. She began her career in vaudeville as an impressionist and was the principal voice of the animated character Betty Boop from 1931 to 1939. She also voiced Olive Oyl in the Popeye cartoons from 1933 onwards.
Questel appeared in occasional live-action film and television roles later in her career. These included Mrs. Strakosh in Funny Girl (1968) and Aunt Bethany in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989). She reprised the voice of Betty Boop in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). She died in New York City in 1998.
