Biography
Mairead McKinley is a Northern Irish actress. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she won the Pauline Siddle Award.
Her film credits include the role of Wilde Housemaid in Velvet Goldmine (1998), a barmaid in Edge of Tomorrow (2014) and the title role in Molly's Way (2005), for which she received several best actress awards. On television she has appeared in Father Ted (1995) as Sister Monica, Vera (2011) as Rene O'Brien and My Mad Fat Diary (2013) as Liam's Mum.
McKinley's extensive theatre work includes productions at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Court. She won the TMA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2002 for The Clearing.
