Biography
Mako Kamitsuna is an American film editor, director and writer. Born in Houston, Texas, she was raised in Hiroshima, Japan. She earned a BA in philosophy from Columbia University and an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Her editing credits include the features Blackhat (2015), Mudbound (2017) and the documentary We Are X (2016), for which she shared the Special Jury Award for editing at the Sundance Film Festival. She edited episodes of the series Westworld (2018) and Perry Mason (2020), and has served as consulting producer on Shōgun (2024). Kamitsuna has also directed and written several short films.
