Biography
Malik Hassan Sayeed is an American cinematographer. Born in New York City in 1969, he graduated from Howard University in 1990 with a degree in film studies.
He worked as an electrician on Spike Lee productions before serving as director of photography on Clockers (1995), Girl 6 (1996) and He Got Game (1998). He was also the cinematographer on Hype Williams' Belly (1998) and second unit director of photography on Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (1999). After a period focused on music videos and commercials, including work on Beyoncé's Lemonade (2016) and Black Is King (2020), he returned to feature films as director of photography on Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt (2025).
