Biography
Marietta Canty was an American actress. Born on 30 September 1905 in Hartford, Connecticut, she died there on 9 July 1986.
She first appeared on Broadway in 1933 and acted in around 40 films between 1940 and 1955, mostly in supporting roles and bit parts. Her credits include Delilah in Father of the Bride (1950) and its sequel Father's Little Dividend (1951), and the Crawford family maid in Rebel Without a Cause (1955). After retiring from acting she returned to Hartford, where she was active in community affairs and received several humanitarian awards.
