Biography

Mark Chapman is a British actor born in 1955 in Birmingham. He trained at Stratford College of Further Education under Gordon Vallins and briefly at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama before touring as a deputy stage manager with Marius Goring in 1974. He subsequently worked in repertory theatre at the Oxford Playhouse, Derby Playhouse and Belgrade Theatre Coventry, followed by fringe productions in London and Edinburgh.

Chapman has appeared in numerous film and television productions, often in uncredited or small roles. These include Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), GoldenEye (1995), The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997), Hamlet (1996) and The Wings of the Dove (1997). He played the uncredited Police Officer in the 1995 series The Politician's Wife and Co-Pilot Collins in The Dead (2010).

More recent credits include Beyond Fury (2019) and The Barn (2024), in which he played Odin. He is married to Annie and lives in Sussex; his eldest son James works as a film producer.
