Biography

Mark Harelik is an American actor and playwright. Born Marcus Frank Harelik on 5 June 1951 in Hamilton, Texas, he began his career in theatre and later moved to Los Angeles in 1987.

He has appeared in films including Election (1999) as Dave Novotny, Jurassic Park III (2001), 42 (2013) and Trumbo (2015). On television he has had roles in series such as The Big Bang Theory (as Dr Eric Gablehauser), Breaking Bad, Grey's Anatomy, Bones and The Rookie. He is also known for playing God in Preacher (2016–2019).

Harelik has written plays including The Immigrant (1985), later adapted as a musical, and has performed on Broadway in productions such as The Light in the Piazza and The Normal Heart. He is married to actress Spencer Kayden.
