Biography

Mark Harmon is an American actor. Born Thomas Mark Harmon on 2 September 1951 in Burbank, California, he began acting in the mid-1970s after a college football career with the UCLA Bruins.

He is best known for playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the television series NCIS (2003–2021), a role he also produced. Earlier television work includes a recurring part as Simon Donovan in The West Wing (2002), for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.

Harmon appeared as Ryan in the film Freaky Friday (2003) and reprised the role in Freakier Friday (2025). He has been married to actress Pam Dawber since 1987.
