Biography

Mary Jo Randle is an English actress working in theatre and television. She trained at RADA, where she received the Bancroft Gold Medal, and won the Most Promising Actress award at the Ronson awards in 1981. She studied at the University of Birmingham before pursuing drama.

Randle is best known for her role as Jo Morgan in the series The Bill (1993–1995) and as Bernie Quinlan in The Lakes (1997–1999). Other television credits include appearances in Small Island (2009) as Queenie's mother, Wolf Hall (2015), Midsomer Murders (2004), Wire in the Blood (2008) and Casualty.

Her film roles include Control (2007), Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman (2005) and Another Year (2010). She has also worked extensively in theatre, with credits including productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
