Biography
Maryann Plunkett is an American actress and singer. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire and was a founding member of the Portland Stage Company. Her Broadway debut was as Sister Agnes in Agnes of God. In 1987 she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for playing Sally Smith in Me and My Girl. She received a second Tony nomination in 2024 for the musical adaptation of The Notebook.
Plunkett has appeared in films including The Squid and the Whale (2005) as Ms. Lemon, Blue Valentine (2010) as Glenda, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) as Joanne Rogers and Little Women (2019) as Mrs. Kirke. Television credits include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, House of Cards, Manifest and Star Trek: The Next Generation. She is married to actor Jay O. Sanders.
