Biography
Masao Takiyama is a Japanese anime producer and production designer. He began his career at Fuji Creative Corporation, a subsidiary of Fuji Television, where he produced anime series and handled international licensing, including for European markets.
In 1998 he joined Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan and played a key role in launching Animax, the first television network dedicated solely to anime. He has held executive positions with satellite networks including Action Channel, Mystery Channel and The Cinema, subsidiaries of AXN Co., Ltd. Takiyama produced the Satoshi Kon-directed films Tokyo Godfathers (2003) and Paprika (2006). He holds a BA in literature from Kokugakuin University (1973).
