Biography

Max Bennett (born 24 November 1984) is an English actor. He was born in Leytonstone, London, attended The Latymer School, studied French and Italian at Queens' College, Cambridge, and trained at the National Youth Theatre and the École Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Bennett has worked extensively in London theatre, with leading roles in the West End and for companies including the Donmar Warehouse, Royal Court, Young Vic, Shakespeare's Globe and the National Theatre; he has won an Ian Charleson Award. On screen he is known for playing Monk Adderley in the BBC series Poldark (2015–2018), Robert Southwell in the TNT series Will (2017), David in the film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), Brown in The Gentlemen (2020), and Coottsey in the BBC film King Charles III (2017). He has also appeared in Slow Horses (2022–) and other television series.
