Biography
Mel Blanc (1908–1989) was an American voice actor and radio performer. He began his radio career in 1927 and joined Warner Bros. animation in the mid-1930s, where he voiced numerous characters in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird.
Blanc provided the hiccup for the character Gideon in the 1940 Disney film Pinocchio. He later worked extensively with Hanna-Barbera, voicing Barney Rubble in the television series The Flintstones (1960) and other characters. His film credits include voices in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).
