Biography

Michael Katz is an Austrian film producer. Born in Villach in 1954, he has worked with the Vienna-based production company Wega Film since 1985 and is a co-owner of the company since 2008.

Katz has collaborated on most films directed by Michael Haneke, serving in producer or executive producer roles on titles including Benny's Video (1992), The Piano Teacher (2001), Caché (2005), The White Ribbon (2009), Amour (2012) and Happy End (2017). He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture for Amour in 2013.
