Biography
Michael Kuhn is a Kenyan-born English film producer. He studied at Dover College and read law at Clare College, Cambridge, before joining PolyGram in 1975. In 1991 he established PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and, after its merger with Universal in 1999, founded the independent production company Qwerty Films.
Kuhn's credits include executive producer on Wild at Heart (1990), Red Rock West (1993), Being John Malkovich (1999), I ♥ Huckabees (2004) and Severance (2006), and producer on The Duchess (2008), Suite Française (2015), Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) and Golda (2023). He was appointed Chair of the National Film and Television School in 2002 and received a CBE in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to the film industry. He published the memoir 100 Films and a Funeral in 2001.
