Biography
Mona Freeman (born Monica Elizabeth Freeman) was an American actress and painter. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on 9 June 1926, she began modelling while in high school and was selected as the first 'Miss Subways' in New York in 1941. Howard Hughes signed her to a contract, which was sold to Paramount Pictures. Her first film appearance was in Till We Meet Again (1944).
Freeman appeared in films including an uncredited role as a secretary in Double Indemnity (1944), Maria Almond in The Heiress (1949), and Mary Wilton in Angel Face (1953). She also had uncredited parts in The Greatest Show on Earth (1952). Her film work largely ended in the 1950s, but she continued in television, with guest roles in series such as Perry Mason (1957–1965) and Maverick (1957). She died in Beverly Hills, California, on 23 May 2014.
