Biography
Morten Tyldum is a Norwegian film and television director. He was born on 19 May 1967 in Bergen and studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He began his career in Norwegian television, including work on the youth series U for NRK, before directing short films, music videos and commercials.
Tyldum made his feature debut with Buddy (2003). He is known for the thriller Headhunters (2011), the historical drama The Imitation Game (2014), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Director, and the science-fiction film Passengers (2016). His television credits include directing episodes of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2018), Counterpart (2017), Defending Jacob (2020) and Silo (2023).
In 2025 he was announced as director and executive producer of the pilot for the Apple TV+ series Cape Fear (2026).
