Biography

Nami Melumad is an Israeli-Dutch film and television composer, conductor, flautist and pianist. Born in Ramat Gan, Israel, she studied composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance before completing the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television programme at the University of Southern California and the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. She is based in Los Angeles.

Melumad has scored more than 150 projects. She co-composed the score for Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) with Michael Giacchino and has written music for the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022–) and Star Trek: Prodigy (2021–), making her the first woman to compose for the Star Trek franchise. Other credits include An American Pickle (2020), One Fast Move (2024), Dream Productions (2024) and the short Far from the Tree (2021). She received the Society of Composers and Lyricists David Raksin Award for Emerging Talent in 2023 and has won awards from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and the International Film Music Critics Association.
